EWEA is the voice of the wind industry, actively promoting wind power in Europe and worldwide. It has
over 695 members from almost 60 countries, including wind turbine manufacturers with a leading
share of the world wind power market, plus component suppliers, research institutes, national wind and
renewables associations, developers, contractors, electricity providers, finance and insurance
companies, and consultants. This combined strength makes EWEA the world’s largest and most
powerful wind energy network.

Scope

The Research Officer is responsible for delivering internal analyses and external studies under
supervision of the Head of Policy Analysis supporting the work of the regulatory affairs unit.  The
Research officer – Electricity grids & Market leads more specifically researches related to electricity grid
and market.

Duties
Internal analyses
- Identify the relevant internal and external information sources, including internal and external
experts
- Collect, analyse and synthesise information
- Develop a yearly plan defining the topics, needed resources and involvement of other
departments agreed by the policy department management
- On the basis of a timeline agreed with the head of Policy Analysis, provide synthetic reports
highlighting the main points and references, in a format suitable for internal and/or external
communication
- Develop PowerPoint presentations highlighting the main results
- Participate to events and perform external presentations to disseminate the main results to
external audiences
External studies
- For studies requiring a strong expertise, work in close collaboration with external technical
experts
- Strictly follow the contract implementation, and report regularly to the Head of Policy Analysis
Required key qualifications
- Master in energy and/or engineering
- Excellent knowledge of electricity grids & market
- Fluent written and verbal English is mandatory
- Excellent technical skills to understand technical environment and societal issues related to
wind
- Open mindset and good communication skills
- Proven analytical skills
- Strong ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to work as a team player as well as independently
- Ability to work in a multicultural and international environment
