New Ventures is looking for a part-time or full-time intern to assist in research and writing. New Ventures (NV) is part of the Markets and Enterprise Program at World Resources Institute. The Markets and Enterprise Program seeks to direct the flow of capital towards sustainable businesses. New Ventures is the World Resources Institute’s center for environmental entrepreneurship – providing business development services to environmentally-focused small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in emerging markets. New Ventures addresses the key barriers to “green” entrepreneurial growth by building in-country support networks for environmental enterprises and increasing their access to finance (for more information, see www.new-ventures.org).
New Ventures works in 6 emerging markets—Brazil, China, Colombia, India, Indonesia, and Mexico. We produce research that informs investors about emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges in various environmental sectors where these SMEs operate, with a focus on clean energy, water, and sustainable agriculture. We draw on the expertise and research capabilities of the World Resources Institute and the on-the-ground knowledge of our New Ventures Local Centers. The intern will help produce a peer-reviewed research piece regarding market based solutions to energy access in India, as well as assist with other research tasks for New Ventures.
