Description

Forum works in partnership with leading organisations in business and the public sector, focusing on key sectors including retail, the built environment, finance, transport, tourism, the public sector and cities. During your internship you will work closely with the team to support their information needs and conduct research for various metrics projects.  This internship is for a period of 3 months, full or part time, but ideally for five days a week for the first month.

Job Summary

This position will provide research support to the Metrics team. We help organisations set, measure, and achieve their objectives using metrics – the language and methods of measurement.  Research tasks are likely to include:

  • Researching for projects and publications

  • Analysis of data; presenting results

  • Developing / collating methodology

  • Writing or co-writing of reports

  • Other activities as may be reasonably required

Further desk-based research, general support and working with other teams within Forum on an ad hoc basis may also be required.

Person Specification

  • A commitment to the values and mission of Forum for the Future

  • An understanding of sustainable development is desirable

  • Excellent, demonstrable research skills

  • Able to present a concise summary of research

  • Confidence with Microsoft Excel is highly desirable

  • Confidence with Microsoft Word and Outook is an advantage

  • An understanding of measurement and how measurement can be used to track progress towards a stated goal

  • An understanding of working with business or the public sector is desirable

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Very well organised, able to prioritise work and meet deadlines

  • Able to follow instructions and be self-motivating

  • Able to work in a team environment

The internship will be based in London and is unpaid, although travel within London Zone 6 and lunch up to £5 per day is reimbursed
