Description

The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is a premier national autonomous Institute of the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoE&F), Government of India in the field of teaching, training and research. The WII wishes to engage three (03) research fellows [01-Senior Research Fellow (SRF), 01-Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and 01-Technical Assistant (TA)] through a Walk-in-Interview on Monday, 30th November 2009.

Macroecology of terrestrial herpetofauna of the Andaman and Nicobar archipelago.

(02 : 1-SRF and 1-JRF)

Duration: Four years.

Essential Qualification

JRF: Masters Degree in Wildlife Science/Forestry/Zoology/Life Sciences/ Biosciences, with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University.

Desirable Qualification

Candidate should have interest and experience on working with herpetofauna.

SRF: Masters Degree in Wildlife Science/Forestry/Zoology/Life Sciences/ Biosciences, with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University and a minimum of two years of research experience.

Desirable Qualification

Candidate should possess at least one peer-reviewed scientific publication or popular article in biological science.

Description of Work

Documenting the patterns in body size, species co-occurrence and the relationship between abundance and distribution in herpetofauna in the islands.
