Our Pest Management Group delivers research projects on the biology and management of invertebrate pests in agriculture, horticulture and arboriculture with specialist expertise in Integrated Pest Management (IPM), pest behaviour, pesticides and treatment thresholds. As a result of our success in this area we require a Research Entomologist with the energy and drive to deliver high quality work, whilst providing excellent customer service.

The Role
The successful candidate will be part of our team working from our busy Boxworth office near Cambridge. You will apply your entomological expertise to our existing portfolio of work as well as developing new projects. You will develop high quality proposals and manage research & consultancy projects on aspects of applied entomology often in collaboration with other research collaborators and partners.

Candidates will: 
• Develop proposals and manage research projects for clients (including commercial companies, levy-funded organisations, government departments and agencies) fully meeting client requirements
• Develop and maintain a portfolio of clients through provision of research ideas and solutions 
• Write technical reports and make professional presentations to clients, scientific and industry audiences
• Understand crop production processes & crop protection
• Demonstrate analytical, decision-making and project management skills 
• Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills with clients, colleagues and collaborators 
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing business needs
• Demonstrate commercial awareness and focus on client requirements
• Have a PhD or MSc in entomology or a related discipline
• Hold a full driving licence and be able to supply proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
