Research Associate/Assistant Analyst

CPI-ISB Energy and Environment Program

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

The CPI-ISB Energy and Environment Program is a joint initiative between Climate Policy Initiative (CPI) and the Indian School of Business (ISB). CPI is a research foundation that examines the effectiveness of energy and climate policies around the globe, and helps frame future policies. CPI’s mission is to help nations achieve low-carbon development by evaluating their efforts to promote the new energy economy.  In seeking to deliver practical answers to these questions, CPI works with leaders at the highest levels of government, the private sector, and academia.  ISB is an internationally-ranked, premier business school.

POSITION SUMMARY

The CPI-ISB Program is looking for a talented and a motivated individual at research associate/assistant analyst level to provide research and analytical support. Under the supervision of the Program Director, s/he will work with the government and businesses to help design policy options that are practical and implementable.

The selected candidate will be expected to work in conjunction with other CPI offices worldwide. S/he is expected to demonstrate good quantitative skills; business experience; a proven interest in climate change, clean technology or policy analysis; excellent written and oral communication skills; and an ability to generate actionable rather than academic insights.

The selected candidate will work on projects of both national and international scope. S/he will work in a challenging environment that requires independent thinking as well as collaboration and problem solving with team members, cross-disciplinary understanding, and professional interactions. Successful candidates will be expected to pursue robust and careful quantitative analysis.  Previous experience with climate policy, carbon markets or regulation would be valuable.
