JOB SUMMARY:
Conducts research and analysis in support of a variety of projects in areas related to
energy efficiency, energy financing, and renewable energy. Supports long-range planning
activities in those areas. Provides organizational support to and advancement of the
strategic and planning work of the Policy and Public Affairs department. Contributes to a
mission-driven, creative, and high-energy work environment.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  
1. Conducts research and analysis in support of a variety of policy, public affairs,
regulatory, and planning projects.
2. Provides organizational support for long-term planning activities and projects.
3. Researches internal and external requests for information.
4. Assists in reviewing and editing VEIC materials for regulatory, legislative, and
professional stakeholders at local, regional, national, and international levels.
5. Assists in research for and responds to external communications inquiries.  
6. Provides organizational and administrative assistance to the department.
 KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:  
 
1. Strong personal commitment to VEIC’s mission, goals and values.
2. Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, marketing, engineering, public policy, or
a related field, and at least three years’ experience or equivalent combination of
education and experience. Experience with energy efficiency markets and / or utility
and regulatory environments preferred.  
3. Excellent analytical skills.
4. Good written and oral communication skills.
5. Demonstrated strength in researching, analyzing, writing, and editing critical
information for targeted audiences.
6. Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
7. Ability to be self-directed and to prioritize tasks under multiple competing timelines.
8. Proven ability to be organized, detail oriented, and accurate.
9. Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
