Description

Your particular Research Associate expertise is to assess the methods of capture, transport and injection to geological storage of CO2 from specified coal-fired power plant. This will be an opportunity to assess the creation of new methods of CO2 injection for long-term storage. This is part of a 2 year integrated project to establish methods of evaluation for aquifer sites in the UK. You will be responsible for two case studies based on real subsurface aquifer targets linked to real power plants.

You will be working as part of the UK's largest CCS group within a focused and integrated project which is pioneering methods of specifically evaluating CO2 storage in aquifers close to UK coal-fuelled power plants. The project is collaborating with 5 industry partners and 4 academic organisations. You will develop theory and practice in this field of research, and be responsible for the preparation of interim technical documents and final research publications.

You will have a PhD in Chemistry, Engineering, GeoSciences, or another relevant subject and ability to understand and work with numerical data using sophisticated modelling packages.
