Research Assistant

For the OEF in Nancy, France, the EFI is seeking a research assistant with a background in forestry and/or
environmental sciences.
The post will involve in particular:

• conducting research activities in the field of forest/environmental decision support
• assisting in developing an information portal on international/European policy and financial instruments
• assisting in sustainability and policy impact analysis
• assisting in organising workshops/conferences

The applicant should have a Masters Degree (or equivalent) preferably in the fields of forestry/environmental
sciences. He/she should fulfil following requirements:

• good insight into relevant forest/forestry topics of European relevance
• basic knowledge of national/European forest/forest sector statistics and associated data collection
• processes, like on Criteria and Indicators for Sustainable Forest Management
• basic knowledge of international/European forest institutions, policy processes and instruments
• good technical skills in MS office and database development/management

The candidate should have excellent communication skills and be able to work in an international working
environment both independently and in a team. Fluency in English is required, French and/or German language
skills are of advantage.
