Working with team members and external partners, the successful candidate will:
Conduct research and analysis on low-carbon city blueprint, practical solutions, and related projects
Review international experiences in low-carbon development options and analyze their applicability to Chinese cities
Participate in the scoping, mapping, and review of existing country-level and city-level low carbon development studies
Support to develop practical guidance and tools for low-carbon city planning for municipal governments
Assist bottom-up sectoral and technological analysis for carbon reduction in the key sectors and development of optional technological roadmaps for pilot cities
Assist to produce, proofread, and edit research reports and papers in both English and Chinese, and coordinate publication process
Support to organize internal/external meetings, workshops, conferences, and other project dissemination activities
Assist in some project management work as needed
Support other activities as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor or Master degree in environmental economics/policy/engineering, urban planning/studies, or related field
2-3 years work experience in climate and energy field, experience in low-carbon city planning and sectoral projects would be an advantage
Familiarity with environmental and economic assessment of low carbon technologies as well as bottom-up technological modeling and analysis
Strong quantitative analytical skills
Excellent research, analytical, writing, and presentation skills, preferably with publication experience
Fluency in oral and written Chinese and English
Ability to work well in a team, manage multiple priorities, take initiative, and deliver under tight deadlines
Willingness to travel and to concentrate on field work as needed
