Job Description:

To support our growth we seek a Research Assistant to work in our Climate Change and Sustainability Division. The Research Assistant will contribute to the development of innovative, accurate, timely, and high quality products and services, typically working on multiple projects with all levels of staff. The Research Assistants at ICF International have an opportunity to apply their academic knowledge, gain exposure to major projects, interact with experts and clients in the field, while building content knowledge and consulting skills. Research Assistants advance in our consulting practice or go on to outstanding graduate programs around the country.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Assisting with data collection and analysis
  • Reviewing engineering  and other literature
  • Solving quantitative and qualitative problems
  • Interacting with federal and commercial clients
  •  Keeping informed of technological advances in a variety of industrial sectors

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (minimum GPA of 3.0) in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry, or related subjects.
  • Demonstrated quantitative and/or modeling skills


Preferred Skills/Experience:

  •  Interest in integrated circuits, semiconductors, photovoltaics, and other electronics devices
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Detail oriented ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • The ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Professional Skills:

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making capabilities
  • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information
  • Ability to apply detailed knowledge of organizational procedures to make independent decisions and serve as a credible resource for a senior management team
  • Ability to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors
  • Excellent problem solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions
  • Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
