Description

This project is looking for a research assistant for a long-term field study on bonobos. The candidate will assist with behavioural and endocrinological data collection. The major work consists of daily walks in the forest following individuals from one habituated bonobo community, and collecting behavioural data as well as urine and faecal samples which will be used for later hormone analysis. Work duties also include entering the collected data in a computer for later analyses. The position is for 10 months, starting in October, 2013 (application deadline: 15th September, 2013).

Volunteers receive free accommodation at the field site and food. They also receive a 300 Euro per month stipend, a contribution of 800 Euro towards an international return flight and reimbursement of visa expenses.
