Sandbag Climate Campaign is a UK based not-for-profit campaigning organisation dedicated to achieving real action to tackle climate change and currently focused on the issue of emissions trading. Our view is that if emissions trading can be implemented correctly, it has the potential to deliver the deep cuts in carbon emissions the world so badly need to prevent the impacts of anthropogenic climate change.

We are currently looking for two research and policy interns to help us three days a week with upcoming projects. This role is ideally suited to someone with an understanding of emissions trading and wishes to gain experience in the environmental sector.

Job Description:

  • Provide research support for ongoing projects.
  • Data Analysis, in particular 2011 EU emissions data.
  • Assisting with administration and organisational issues.
  • Help with ongoing database management tasks.

Key Attributes:

  • Strong academic background in a relevant subject.
  • A keen interest in climate change and related issues.
  • A basic understanding of emissions trading.
  • Excellent working knowledge of excel.
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills.
  • Second Language desirable
  • Ability to work as a team member and on his/her own initiative when the situation demands.
  • Motivated and enthusiastic!


The internship would normally last for 3 months minimum. It is unpaid however reasonable travel cost will be refunded and a meal allowance of £10/day will be provided.
