Earthjustice’s California Office, located in Oakland but soon moving to San Francisco, seeks a Research & Policy Analyst both to assist its lawyers in environmental and public health litigation and to develop expertise in various technical and policy issue areas, with a likely focus on air quality, energy, and environmental health. Candidates with relevant experience or interest in these issue areas are especially encouraged to apply. 

The responsibilities of this position include the investigation, interpretation, and presentation of factual information and technical information to support lawsuits; issue tracking; involvement in regulatory decision-making; client outreach; and media work. The qualifications for the position include (1) a BA/BS or MA/MS in an environmental, public policy or related field; (2) relevant coursework and experience; (3) strong, demonstrated interest in environmental and public health protection and community outreach; (4) excellent written and verbal communication skills; (5) confidence in tackling complex scientific, technical, and regulatory issues, undertaking data analysis, and public speaking; (6) attention to detail; (7) great organizational skills; and (8) the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
