Internship Title: Research & Monitoring Student Volunteer Intern Pay Range: $1000/month Duration: September 2011 through August 2012 Project Location: Ashland/Medford Oregon The Klamath Bird Observatory (www.KlamathBird.org) is seeking a highly motivated individual to complete a one-year internship with our Research and Monitoring Team. The intern will help Klamath Bird Observatory advance bird and habitat conservation by assisting with various data management and research projects, as well as some seasonal avian surveys, plus other tasks. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, interest in data management and avian ecology, and an ability to remain focused while completing surveys during long days under difficult outdoor conditions. Some weekend work and camping may be required. A valid driver’s license is required. The intern will gain skills working with various software programs such as Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and ArcGIS, as well as become familiar with various types of avian surveys. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for those interested in pursuing further education or a career in the field of conservation science.
