Overview

Manage, implement and monitor the Energy Management Strategies for the organization. Develop a program of energy/carbon reduction initiatives. Improve the Company’s

overall energy performance and reduction programs worldwide. Establish policies and programs around carbon footprint

reduction, green buildings, waste management and water conservation. Act as an agent of change within the organization specific to sustainability development initiatives.



Responsibilities

- Assist in the carbon management and energy utilization management service designed to reduce carbon emissions and conserve and minimize energy and water consumption. Develop and implement policy, procedures and guidelines for continual improvement in all areas of energy management and carbon reduction. Champion the development and implementation of sustainable and best practice for energy and water management solutions across all locations. To improve the overall energy performance and reduction of the companies carbon footprint.

 

- Manage, develop and implement a comprehensive program of energy audits on all locations to identify potential energy and carbon reduction opportunities, undertaking feasibility studies, option appraisals and evaluation exercises to demonstrate viability of investment.

 

- Support all programs in line with sustainability initiatives – EPA; Climate Leaders; CDP; Bloomberg; BSR; CSR.

 

- Identify and track GHG emissions related to Scope 1; Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions. Calculate and convert all GHG emissions into CO2e equivalent.

 

- Develop and implement a robust monitoring and targeting system for the effective and efficient long-term management of energy use.

 

- Responsible for the procurement, management and budget control of utility supply agreements. In addition, procurement of green power.

 

- Actively pursue funding opportunities to secure financial support for energy/carbon reduction schemes or initiatives. Secure tax rebates and credits as applicable.



Qualifications

Required::

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in the practical implementation of energy and carbon conservation, emphasizing sustainable design.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in relevant subject such as Energy/Environmental Management, Building Services, etc.
  • Must be capable of calculating and converting all GHG emissions into CO2e equivalents.
  • Previous experience in managing regional technical project portfolios for an organization.
  • Must possess previous experience in leading project groups and managing multi-disciplinary technical specialists revolving around: energy/carbon consumption modeling, energy performance certificates, environmental assessment (LEED or similar), and life cycle assessment.
  • Must be able to coordinate and attend meetings in different time zones worldwide.
  • Must be available to adjust work schedule; including ability to work weekend and/or evening hours.
  • Must be able to work from ew Jersey and New York on a weekly basis.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Must be able to lead multiple project groups simultaneously.
  • Proven project management capabilities.
  • Must be self starter with strong customer service orientation.
  • Utilize programs to track GHG, etc.
  • Must be literate in Microsoft Office Systems.
  • Ability to adopt applicable programs necessary.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprint (CAD) drawings for architectural and M.E.P. design and installations.

Preferred:

  • LEED certifications
  • Comparable industry experience within retail, office, distribution or manufacturing facility.
  • Degree, Certification or proven knowledge in Property/Facility or Real Estate Management.
