Background:

Lark Energy is part of the Larkfleet Group, a privately owned construction and development group based in the East Midlands. The company develops and installs a range of renewable energy solutions for new and existing housing and commercial developments, with a focus on photovoltaic (PV) systems. Lark Energy has developed and installed over 12MWp of PV projects since May 2011, including two of the UKs largest solar farms. Lark Energy are looking to expand in the large scale solar farm sector, whilst maintaining their presences in medium-sized ventures. They require a project officer to enable this continuity and to adapt to the changing size of the organisation and allow for this growth.

Objective:

The opportunity will require a great deal of project management skills and will result in the successful management of multiple solar sites and their progress from identification through to site development and construction.

The successful candidate will gain excellent experience in this relatively new and growing sector, develop project management skills, and a thorough understanding of solar technology and the processes involved in taking a site from identification, through a feasibility study and right the way to completion. As Lark Energy is expanding, the candidate will also be well placed for any opportunities that do arise.

Outputs:

  1. To project manage a site from identification to completion, whilst maintaining a successful relationship with the client
  2. Help to maintain the growth of Lark Energy through efficient working and defined processes, easing the workload of all colleagues.

Essential Selection Criteria:

  1. Candidates must be a graduate
  2. Must have strong project management skills and experience
  3. Must display great communication skills and ability to explain ideas and issues clearly and concisely.
  4. Good team player, able to react and adapt to changing tasks and workload easily
  5. Proven ability to write technical reports and feasibility studies
  6. Organised, yet flexible approach to working to enable the management of multiple projects at once.

Key Tasks:

  1. Investigate medium sized sites (6-30 acres) after referral from sales colleagues, or return to previous sites.
  2. Build and maintain relationship with landowners and visit site to get an idea of the suitability for solar PV.
  3. Send budget estimate requests referring to the connection feasibility and breakdown from the network.
  4. Begin feasibility studies for sites ready for presenting to investors
  5. Manage multiple projects from start to finish over a period of around 6 months for each.
