The drive towards Renewable technologies across the UK and in Scotland in particular is giving rise to new opportunities for Atkins. We therefore have an opportunity for a degree qualified engineer to join our growing Renewables team in Glasgow and are keen to receive applications from candidates with an acceptable level of relevant experience gained within the renewable energy sector and in particular the bio energy industry.
Role and Responsibilities The role will involve working as part of a growing team producing work for the power and energy industries. Work will involve project management and engineering design/advice mainly, but not exclusively. on renewable energy projects and will typically include the following: - liaising with clients and managing projects
- developing and pursuing business opportunities
- feasibility and conceptual design studies
- site survey and inspection activities
- analysis and design
- specification writing
- trouble shooting and problem-solving
- technical/commercial due-diligence advice
Requirements We are looking for the following skills and personal qualities: - a good level of competency in all Microsoft Office applications
- excellent inter-personal, verbal and written communication skills
- confident, with the ability to work either independently or as part of a team
- flexible and willing to travel to other Atkins offices and client offices both within the UK and overseas if required
- strong career ambitions
- capable of building and maintaining strong business relationships with internal line managers and external contacts
