RENEWABLE ENERGY TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER

(Solar, Wind and Biomass Technologies)

 

About the Company:

Conservation Services Group, Inc. (CSG) seeks a full time Technical Project Manager for renewable energy in its New Jersey office.  CSG, one of the fastest growing and most diverse energy efficiency and renewable energy companies in the country, provides energy conservation and renewable energy and consulting and program management services to utility companies, state agencies and private market customers. CSG's New Jersey office is responsible for implementation of the Customer On-site Renewable Energy Program (CORE), which is sponsored by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities' Clean Energy Program. This program provides technical support, training, incentives and quality assurance to commercial and residential customers installing renewable energy systems.  Qualified candidates will have a strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, particularly solar, but also including wind and biomass. 

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage contracts with technical experts who can advise on technical standards and procedures, or in special circumstances provide inspections for large or unique projects.
  • Support Technical Director in development and ongoing improvement of technical standards for renewable installations built with renewable energy technologies, solar, wind and biomass.
  • Develop and communicate quality assurance standards and mechanisms:
  • Develop, implement and refine program inspection procedures; develop inspection protocols and mechanisms for screening technical designs.
  • Write documentation of technical requirements and protocols; prepare and deliver presentations on standards to public and professional audiences.
  • Support Technical Director in developing training for staff and contractors in program technical standards for renewable energy systems:
  • Train and/or organize trainings of field inspectors and program contractors
  • Develop ongoing training and education to keep staff current on latest industry developments and opportunities.
  • Perform Quality Control/Quality Assurance functions as needed, including:
  • Perform QC/QA inspections on solar, wind and biomass installations as needed
  • Develop and carry forth QA inspection selection criteria in accordance with developed guidelines
  • Monitor QA program, including the development and implementation of necessary reporting tools
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key program contractors, project developers, local governments and other stakeholders in renewable energy project development.
  • Develop expertise in technologies, resource assessments, policies and rules for solar, wind and biomass development in New Jersey.
Qualifications:

The CORE technical project manager should have 3-5 years experience in:

  • Design, installation and start-up of renewable energy systems, and/or
  • Technical oversight of renewable energy incentive programs.
  • Extensive knowledge of renewable energy systems, solar, wind and biomass for residential and commercial applications
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), including ability to communicate technical concepts to contractors, consumers, program staff, and other stakeholders
  • Computer proficiency, experience with Windows based computers, & familiarity with software design models
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
  • Demonstrated initiative and follow-through in areas of responsibility required for the position

Reports to:    New Jersey Renewable Energy Technical Director

Salary:           Commensurate with experience
