The starting salary for this position is c£30,000 per annum. The overall purpose of this role is to provide a focal point of expertise within the energy team and the business for renewable energy generation. You will ensure renewable energy generation is maximised from existing plant and be responsible for the delivery of a programme of renewable energy developments to achieve the volumes set out in annual and long term targets KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES To support Operations to improve the performance, reliability and output of the existing hydro and CHP generation equipment To optimise renewable energy generation against on-site energy usage To identify, assess and promote new renewable energy generating plant projects, suitable for the business To work with Operations and Finance to set challenging yet achievable generation targets and associated budgets To support and advise on suitable, cost effective maintenance regimes to ensure reliability To maximise the benefits from renewable energy to the business from energy, carbon, maintenance and financial savings To ensure compliance with related legislation e.g. Environmental Permitting Regulations, as necessary To support contract development and delivery for sale of energy and components QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Relevant degree or HND/HNC Experience in a mechanical/electrical maintenance or design function in a utility or related Industry Experience of electricity generating equipment and knowledge of the electricity industry would be advantageous Closing date: 4 February 2009 For an application pack please see downloads on the right or alternatively please see contact details below.
