Description:
The renewable energy industry is growing fast, protecting the environment, creating local jobs, and improving public health. Rocky Mountain Power’s Blue Sky renewable energy program is driving that growth in the Salt Lake City area. We are building a seasonal outreach team to reach to goal of enrolling over 1600 households to support renewable energy. Reaching our goal will help to avoid almost 7 MILLION pounds of CO2 emissions, an impact similar to planting 90,000 trees.
We need an outgoing, motivated, and seasoned outreach professional to provide leadership and help train our team for door-to-door, festival, and community outreach campaigns.
This is a part-time temporary position, with opportunities for professional development with an exciting renewable energy company. Training starts in April with the campaign running from May through July,
Duties:
- Train staff to enroll customers in the Blue Sky program through door-to-door campaigns and events in the Salt Lake City area - Mentor, supervise, and oversee safety in the field while meeting high personal performance standards - Work closely with the Outreach Coordinator on training and to provide updates on staff development - Accurately describe and discuss the Blue Sky program with customers, answer questions, and keep up-to-date on program info - Work 15-30 hours per week, which may include weekdays, weeknights, and weekends. Employees will work at a regular time and place each week as well as be scheduled for one-time special events - Shifts may require employee to carry up to 50lbs, set up at events, and walk or stand up to 5 hours at a time in unpredictable weather t with an exciting renewable energy company.
Qualifications:
- Experience participating in campaigns, sales, tabling, petitioning, fundraising, and/or other relevant experience - Experience training individuals for campaigns, sales, tabling, petitioning, fundraising, and/or other relevant experience - Outgoing, great people skills, interested in initiating conversations with new people - Passion for renewable energy and sustainability issues - Available for 15-30 hours per week with access to transportation and internet - Reliable, responsible, and willing to take on a leadership role
