By linking local individuals and communities with new ideas and technology, Winrock is increasing long-term productivity, equity, and responsible resource management to benefit the poor and disadvantaged of the world.
Winrock is seeking Renewable Energy Expert candidates for an upcoming 2-5 year USAID-funded Central American Regional Clean Energy Initiative (RCEI). This position will be based in El Salvador. The anticipated program is designed to improve investment climate for clean energy development and reduce overall electrical energy consumption at the regional level. The program is expected to work with regional and national energy regulators, national government ministries, industry trade organizations, large-scale energy consumers, non-government organizations, and private sector renewable energy developers. The principle activities will be to:
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Advanced degree in engineering, renewable energy, environmental science, policy or other relevant field. Minimum 10 years experience in the Renewable Energy sector with in-depth knowledge of one or more specific RE technologies attractive for grid connection (cogeneration, biomass, wind, small hydro, geothermal). Experience in Central America is preferred. Strong communication skills in both Spanish and English are required. Must have experience working with diverse host country partners. Knowledge of Central American regulatory, tariff, and grid code requirements is essential.
