Description
Renewable Energy Credit (REC) Broker
CleanTech Human Capital offers staffing and recruiting services to organizations in the green economy and is currently conducting this search on behalf of a retained client for a Renewable Energy Credit Broker.

About the Client
Our client is a leading REC Brokerage firm with 10 years of experience trading renewable energy credits. The team is dynamic and the leadership emphasizes growth, profit sharing, and the collaborative participation in the development of the firm’s growth strategy.

About the role
We are seeking a practiced REC trader with experience in compliance markets that craves better compensation, a better work environment, and a more entrepreneurial company. The ideal candidate is currently working, has an active book of clients and contacts, and a demonstrable list of transactions. The right candidate will have the opportunity to work remotely from their current location but has the flexibility for occasional travel to regional offices.
The successful candidate will contribute to the firm by growing their own “desks” and providing input on innovative growth strategies to capture additional value from the existing platform.

Responsibilities
This position will be filled by an experienced REC broker with at least some existing contacts in the PJM and NEPOOL compliance REC markets. Experience in the power markets is a plus. They will be tasked with:

· Seeking and executing REC transactions, ranging from spot transactions to medium term (3-5 year) deals in both compliance and voluntary markets;

· Advising clients on REC market strategies, including trade execution and risk management approaches to regional and national trading schemes;

· Maintaining a client base of REC sellers (utilities, traders, renewable energy developers), and REC buyers (utilities, traders and other financial or corporate entities);

· Following state and federal legislative and regulatory developments, providing analysis of their impact on the marketplace for the firm’s existing client base; and

· Providing support to the team in the form of market information and cross commodity trading.

Requirements:
· 2 years related experience;

· Demonstrated ability to transact

· Highly organized and ability to manage large call rotation.

· An ability to perform under pressure;

· Sound judgment in assessing market conditions and counseling clients on market execution strategies.

Our client offers a commission rate structure that will match or beat the right candidate’s current situation and offers a fast paced and collaborative environment.
