Salary: $72,590pa p.a.

Duties: This position is primarily based at Macquarie Island with several weeks at Head Office prior to departure and following return at the end of the season. The Remediation Officer will be required to participate in the 2012/13 summer field program at Macquarie Island for approximately 3.5 months (from December 9 2012 (VT1) to March 9 2013 (V4)).

The Remediation Officer will provide support for the Remediation of Petroleum Contaminantsproject through provision of field and laboratory support, data generation, and data handling as part of the 2012/13 field program at Macquarie Island. The primary role of the Remediation Officer will be to assist with field sampling, monitoring and operation of remediation activities.  A secondary role will be to assist with laboratory work and provide science support to the ecotoxicology activities.
