AAD Science Branch Terrestrial and Nearshore Ecosystems Expeditioner Band 2 APS Level 5 Non-ongoing Salary: $72,590pa p.a. Duties: This position is primarily based at Casey Station with several weeks at Head Office prior to departure and following return at the end of the season. The Remediation Officer will be required to participate in the 2012/13 summer field program at Macquarie Island for approximately 3.5 months (from October 26, 2012 (FMcM01A) to February 12 2013 (FA05B)). The Remediation Officer will provide support for the Remediation of Petroleum Contaminantsproject through provision of field and laboratory support, data generation, and data handling as part of the 2012/13 field program at Casey Station. The primary role of the Remediation Officer will be to assist with field sampling, monitoring and operation of remediation activities. The remediation officer will also be required to provide guidance and support for microbial and plant ecotoxicological activities. A secondary role will be to assist with laboratory work.
