The government is releasing the NGER (Measurement) Amendment Determination 2011consultation draft for comment by interested parties. The release of the exposure draft follows the release of a Discussion paper on the amendments to the NGER Determinations in August 2010. The Department received constructive feedback on the discussion paper in the 38 submissions submitted, covering the majority of issues raised.
The Government is inviting all interested parties to comment on the exposure draft, with submissions due on the Tuesday 31 May 2011. The intention is for the NGER Amendment Determination 2011 to come into effect on 1 July 2011 to inform the preparation of NGER reports in October 2012 (i.e. for the 2011-2012 reporting year only). These proposals have no effect on reports to be submitted in October 2011.
The Department is simultaneously publishing a response paper summarizing submissions and outlining the Department’s current position on issues raised in the discussion paper. The response paper reflects the views of the Department, and does not indicate commitment or endorsement by the Government of a particular course of action.
