JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

 

The Non-Timber Forest Products – Exchange Programme for South and Southeast Asia (NTFP-EP), a regional network of grassroots NGOs and peoples’ organizations implementing programs in six (6) Asian countries is in need of a:

 

REGIONAL POLICY AND GOVERNANCE COORDINATOR

This Coordinator is expected to lead in strategically addressing development concerns with regards to issues of deforestation, unsustainable land use, indigenous peoples and local communities’ rights with relation to forest tenure and resource access. The Coordinator will build the advocacy strategy and projects based on existing advocacy plans of the regional program and each of the country programs as well.  The Coordinator will also promote the positive advocacies of NTFP-EP as alternative to unsustainable forest management practices existing in target countries and areas.

Qualifications

  1. Educational background: anthropology, forestry, ecology, social sciences, economics or other related fields
  2. At least 7 years of advocacy experience and preferably with campaign component
  3. Has worked in international work settings and has exposure to Asian policy contexts especially in the field of natural resource management
  4. Exposure to ASEAN mechanisms an advantage
  5. Knowledge of Social Forestry and Climate Change concerns an advantage
  6. Good in communication and networking skills
  7. Good writing and presentation skills
  8. Good team player
  9. Good facilitation skills
  10. Resourceful

Remuneration:  The monthly remuneration of the position is at par with other organizations and with opportunity to travel.
