National Wildlife Federation, America’s conservation organization passionate about protecting wildlife for our children’s future, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated worker to serve as a Regional Outreach Coordinator. This person will be responsible to:
• Achieve conservation victories by educating, engaging and organizing hunters, anglers and wildlife enthusiasts around selected nationally significant advocacy campaigns. • Stop global warming by coordinating and building a coalition of hunters, anglers, conservationists and consumers in Florida and South Carolina. • Conduct trainings and workshops, and speak at events and conferences. • Engage and collaborate with other organizations and NWF partners to conduct advocacy, media and online campaigns to influence public policy and decision makers. • Assist in securing funding from foundations, individual donors and coalition partners. • Develop, track and mentor volunteer leadership for involvement in NWF-related affiliate programs and NWF programs. • Function as part of a larger team that includes local affiliate leaders, regional and national staff.

• College degree required.
Required Skills:
• Five years of relevant experience in state or federal legislation lobbying and advocacy; grassroots organizing and generating earned media (i.e., op-eds, editorials and print/radio stories); volunteer activist development and management; or advocacy campaign development and implementation. • Ability to organize volunteers and groups around a specific advocacy campaign. • Ability to work strategically and as a team player; to be able to develop trusting relationships with hunters and anglers. • Excellent writing and public speaking skills, exhibiting a secure knowledge and confidence. • Excellent judgment to make quick decisions and rapidly respond to any question posed by members in the field. • Strong computer skills including World Wide Web, e-mail, list serve, database, and Microsoft Word and Excel experience.
