Description

NEPCon is currently seeking a Regional Manager to lead our organisational efforts in Spain, as well as Portugal and France. We are now looking for a regional leader with a passion for certification, related standard schemes and assurance systems. Furthermore, an interest in making the certification systems work in practice, and making them useful tool for mainstreaming sustainability among producers and supply chains, is key. In addition, the person must have a passion and commitment making a positive difference for the environment.

You will be part of an expanding organisation where we are used to working virtually across continents and offices. The position will be based in our regional office in Madrid, but with travel expected to work with clients across Spain, Portugal and France. In addition, the Regional Manager will be expected to travel internationally at least two times per year to attend internal NEPCon meetings. The office currently has two full-time employees.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage the Regional Office (RO) according to the Vision, Mission and the values of NEPCon, as well as the strategic goals and targets approved by the NEPCon Board of Directors; this shall be done in accordance with the procedures, guidance and instructions given by NEPCon Management.
  • Organize, plan and control the operations and services of the RO, including timely planning, implementation and completion of any job according to NEPCon Quality Management System requirements. The RO Manager will be expected to conduct a number of audits him/herself, and perform quality control functions related to audits, such as conducing audit report reviews and approvals.
  • Organizing and performing the control of financial management of the RO according to national legislation and internal NEPCon policies.
  • Organize and perform proper Human Resource Management in the RO.
  • Organize, plan and control the activities of the RO regarding market development, marketing and sales.

Requirements

  • Have background in environment, auditing against environmental or industrial standards, or other relevant areas of work
  • Experience in the management of projects as well as personnel
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills with a professional, diplomatic and tactful approach
  • Some experience in sales/business development is preferred
  • Education level of a Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in a related environmental field
  • Be fluent in Spanish and English as minimum; fluency also in Portuguese and/or French would be an advantage
  • Willingness to travel frequently in the region (Spain, France, Portugal), and occasionally out of the region
  • Possess good communication skills, both in-person as well as written (including written English)
