Seeking a marketing professional that understands how to generate leads and market a residential home improvement contractor. This individual MUST have previous work experience with a home improvement contractor (windows, roofing, kitchen remodeler, bath, etc…) The Regional Marketing Manager will create strategic marketing programs and public relations initiatives to support the goals as set forth in the Strategic Marketing Plan. The Regional Marketing Manager is responsible for developing marketing programs that provide the company with differentiated brand identity and lead generation opportunities. Based at our San Jose office and covering the South and East Bay, this is a mid-level position reporting directly to the General Manager to meet business goals, and works closely with the Sales Manager and the Director of Marketing to coordinate and meet brand and program objectives. This position manages temporary event marketing professionals and will entail analytical and “hands on” activities. Key Responsibilities:
- Based on corporate revenue objectives, develop regional marketing plan to exceed goals for South Bay region
- Segment community and demographic target markets to achieve revenue goals
- Develop local communication and promotion messaging that aligns with corporate and brand messages
- Create and update collateral, presentations, brochures, product sheets, fact sheets, case studies, white papers, web content, newsletters, signage, ads and sales tools with input from product marketing, engineering, executives, sales, PR and customers
- Manage relationships with key industry media contacts. Seek new media contacts and secure favorable media coverage and article placement in top trade pubs; identify influencers in our industry and communities served. Knowledge of the South Bay area news outlets required; ability to leverage existing media relationships to deliver fast results.
- Develop business partnerships to drive sales including employee discount programs, referral sharing, and strategic partnerships
- Develop public relations editorial calendar. Write and post content for press releases, blogs, tweets, RSS feeds, Facebook and LinkedIn posts. Ensure all content is optimized for SEO strategic goals.
- Actively solicit customer testimonials, case studies, and endorsements for publication on website and external review sites
- Develop incentive programs to drive engagement & identify top customers and design reward programs
- Participate in relevant business, non-profit and trade organizations to increase exposure of GM, Sales Managers, and company products & services
- Create alliances and manage relationships with relevant parties to promote our products, host webinars and write articles for website and newsletters
- Project manage integrated lead generation campaigns
- Manage events to adhere to strategic objectives by streamlining event processes and procedures including event qualifications, lead tracking and post-event evaluation against goals
- Stay abreast of competitive and industry trends as well as company news; analyze and report highlights to key stakeholders
- Constantly explore, recommend, use and optimize communication methods, vehicles and technologies to engage with target audiences
Essential Qualifications:
- 5-7 years marketing, communications or public relations experience with increasing responsibility; start-up experience a plus
- Experience working with a home improvement contractor a must (windows, roofing, kitchen remodeler, bath, etc.)
- Solid computer skills, especially Excel, PPT, Salesforce, lead automation software (Hubspot or Marketo), and PR Software (Vocus or PR Newswire)
- Agency experience a plus; solid project management required
- BS/BA Business Administration/Marketing
- Demonstrated ability to develop short and long term marketing and/or publicity plans with proven success at exceeding goals
- Demonstrated experience creating PR and industry buzz. Ability to aggressively create innovative communication programs that generate results in a timely manner.
- Experience working in high-growth, performance-focused environments and with sales teams as a key stakeholder
- Understanding of the basic principles of marketing (research, public relations, branding, message development, etc.) as well as sales and selling cycles
- Highly analytical; able to synthesize large quantities of data into actionable insights and communicate complex ideas clearly and powerfully
- Driven self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environment
- Prior solar experience a plus; aptitude and desire to quickly learn the solar industry is required
