FLO-CERT GmbH currently has a vacancy in its Central Services department for a customer orientated, service driven, energetic new staff member with an interest in FAIRTRADE:

Regional Manager Asia (based in Bangalore/ India)

FUNCTION

  • Office Manager and Administration of Regional Office in India
  • Organize Fairtrade audits and certifications of operators in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal.  

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage certification activities of operators in the respective region.
  • Select and organize training and evaluation of auditors.
  • Supervise staff in the respective region.
  • Participate to the continuous improvement of FLO-CERT Certification systems.
  • Manage communication with Labelling Initiatives and/or Producer Networks and with key clients in the region.
  • Manage the FLO-CERT`s office in Bangalore / India.

TASKS

  • Manage the processing and the evaluation of applications for assigned operators.
  • Manage the annual certification process for assigned producer and traders.
  • Take certification decisions for assigned operators and manage the quality control of audit reports.
  • Participate in staff hiring process for the respective region.
  • Ensure adequate training, guidance and evaluation of staff.
  • Manage the regional planning of audits.
  • Organize the regular evaluation of auditors.
  • Ensure communication and feedback with auditors.
  • Plan, develop and implement strategy for operational management and development to meet performance plans within agreed budgets and timescales.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring office operational management and development.
  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of Health & Safety, Security, Insurance, Legal and Quality Management Responsibilities.
  • Ensure timely reporting and accounting as required under Indian regulatory. requirements and FLO-CERT monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
  • Manage and control departmental expenditures within agreed budgets, timelines, standards & policies.
  • Manage cash and payment processes in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with other functional/departmental managers so as to understand all necessary aspects and needs of operational development, and to ensure they are fully informed of operational objectives, purposes and achievements.
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of operational matters and provide suitable reporting to directors, managers and staff within the organization as appropriate.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and development of operational strategy and performance in cooperation with the management team.
  • Execute the responsibilities of Office Management according to lawful, ethical, environmental and general standards of care.
  • Manage all aspects of staff reporting processes, policies and procedures relating to Holidays, Sickness, Staff Discipline and Staff Record Keeping.

Continent Manager Asia

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
 

Necessary:
  • University level education (or equivalent) in a relevant subject (Food Science, Business, Agronomy, Law, Economics, Sociology etc.).
  • Familiar with one or more of the following certification schemes: Organic, Eurepgap, SA 8000, Fairtrade, ISO 9000 or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in office and people management of at least 3 years.    
  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent communication skills, team player, flexible, experience in dealing

with different cultures.

  • Strong dedication towards customer service.
  • Strong command in the use of MS Office Products.
  • Motivation for Fairtrade.

 

Advantageous

  • Prior experience in auditing (social, ethical, organic etc).
  • Fluent in other language of the region.
  • Business experience in international trade.
  • Work experience in food processing industry.
  • Knowledge of the agricultural sector in South Asia.
