Review current organizational processes and implement organizational improvements needed to strengthen the effectiveness of the Regional Association organizational structure
Setting up systems for administration, finance, communications, HR, planning and implementation of capacity building programs targeting a Regional Association and its affiliated Cluster Associations
Assisting field staff to deliver a participatory capacity building training program targeting small and marginal farmers focusing on technical aspects of organic cultivation, certification (Organic and Fair-Trade), and business development of Cluster Associations.
Ensuring all regional staff understands their roles and responsibilities and managing the coordination of all regional staff with respect to AOFG and Zameen operational policies.
Implement a system for performance evaluation of field staff and conduct monthly reviews
Manage the communication flow between Zameen Organic, the Regional Association and the affiliated Cluster Associations
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES ·Preferably a PG in rural development, agribusiness or a related field·Minimum of 2 years experience in cooperative development and/or working with and organizing producer associations.·Proven capacity to effectively manage and mentor staff with various levels of skills and experience·Previous work experience and knowledge of conditions of rural Andhra Pradesh ·Strong knowledge in cotton value chain, including capacity building for promotion of the farmer’s organization for input/output marketing, agricultural infrastructure and extension education·Strong managerial skills (Financial, HR and Administrative), including well developed skills in managing complex institutional relations and interactions among a variety of stakeholders·Previous experience with and clear understanding of results-based approach to project implementation, monitoring, and reporting ·Fluency in English and Telugu ·Past experience withFair Trade and Organic certification policies ·Clear understanding of farmer issues and clear understanding of socio-environmental and economic implications of sustainable agriculture and Fair Trade practices.
