The Ramblers is looking to recruit a skilled and experienced individual to provide regional support for local Walking for Health schemes. The role will offer regional and area guidance to integrate walking into the local physical activity offer. 

 

Part of this role will be working with a range of partners and key stakeholders.  This will require strong partnership working to develop sustainable Walking for Health schemes that support people to increase their levels of physical activity through walking.

 

Essential Requirements include:

  • Ability to develop strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication skills to communicate consistent messages and gain commitment from different audiences.

  • Excellent presentation skills and experience of delivering workshops.

  • A good understanding of volunteer management and motivations.

  • Ability to diagnose problems, provide innovative solutions and make logical, timely decisions.

  • Experience of working remotely as part of a team, self-managing workloads.

  • Knowledge and experience of local authority and NHS structures and processes.

  • Experience of delivering a public health/physical activity programme.

  • Knowledge of public health/physical activity policy.

  • Experience of developing business cases, or funding bids.

  • Ability to travel across East Midlands and the North of England Region and spend nights away from home.
