WWF, the global conservation organization, is seeking to recruit a Regional Communications Officer for the WWF- Danube Carpathian Programme Office The WWF-DCPO Communications Officer plays a central role in promoting WWF-DCPO, its work, activities and priorities particularly at regional level and to international/regional media, partners and the WWF network. General tasks: · Promote WWF-DCPO and its work in relevant media at regional and international levels. · Liaise with communicators of other WWF organisations. · Promote activities and issues of WWF-DCPO through the internet and regular e-bulletins. · Support development of and manage selected regional-level communications projects. · Supervise, produce and distribute WWF-DCPO communication materials and publications. · Manage and maintain WWF-DCPO communications resources, including image and video databases. · Ensure proper branding of WWF-DCPO activities and outputs. The successful candidate must have: · Excellent command of English, including writing (native speaker), knowledge of another language of the Danube-Carpathian region is an asset. · Experience working with communications and the media. · Experience developing and producing publications and other communications outputs. · Commitment to WWF’s mission and priorities · Experience with the issues and priorities of WWF, including e.g. environment and nature conservation, and work for an environmental organisation is an advantage but not a necessity. Conditions: · The position is based at one of the WWF offices in the Danube-Carpathian region, i.e. Bucharest, Sofia, Vienna or possibly Belgrade or Budapest. · Part-time/flexible work may be possible. · A reasonable remuneration is offered according to local NGO standards.
