Regional Communications Manager Develop and implement a strategy to ensure the attainment of the organisation’s medium and long term objectives: • To maintain close links with SANParks Head Office in Pretoria. • Manage relationships between Garden Route Region and stakeholders. • Supervise the production of promotional materials and media statements. • Develop a communication strategy for the Region. • Prepare PR and Media related work during SANParks high-level events including organizing press conferences and briefings. • Draft and distribute media releases to relevant journalists and media houses locally and nationally when need arises. • Schedule interviews between the Regional Manager and target media when necessary. • Maintain regular contact with journalists at local and national newspapers, online and broadcast media. • Manage and control communications’ budget. • Provide ongoing strategic and operational support to other operational staff within the Region. Requirements: • Be in possession of a Degree/ National Diploma in Journalism, PR or Communications. • Have strong communication and written skills and have excellent networking abilities. • Have extensive media experience gained within a corporate or agency environment. • Be able to think strategically and implement operationally. • Have the ability to work long hours and be available on weekends and public holidays. • Be computer literate (MS Office, excel, Power point). • A Valid Code 08 Driver’s License. • Be willing to travel from time to time. • Be comfortable with conducting print, broadcast and TV interviews. • Be skilled in conflict resolution and be solutions based. |
