The successful applicant will join a highly motivated conservation team dedicated toward accomplishing Ducks Unlimited’s (DU) mission.  Applicant will assist a regional team delivering wetland, riparian, and associated habitat restoration projects in the Great Lakes Atlantic Region (GLAR).  The position will be located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:  (1) generating topographic maps using AutoCad Civil 3D package, (2) performing quantity calculations for civil type projects, (3) scheduling and completing topographic surveys, (4) providing construction management duties, (5) coordinating activities with federal, state, private landowners, and other conservation partners, and (6) assisting in the contract administration process.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a two-year technical degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge of AutoCad Civil 3D and engineering related software.
  • Knowledge of topographic and construction surveying techniques, including GPS and Total Station.
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques of project administration and construction inspection.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with public and private conservation partners.
  • Demonstrated oral and written interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate ATV and outboard boats.
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, willingness to work independently, willingness to travel overnight, ability to work in inclement weather, and ability to work with minimal supervision in remote work environments.
