JOB COMPETENCIES

To be considered for this post you will need to demonstrate the following competencies:

Essential

  1. An aptitude for GIS mapping and IT (including web related work) and a willingness to learn.
  2. Sound knowledge of data management, inputting to databases and producing reports from databases.
  3. Ability to complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
  4. Ability to work as a part of a team as well as independently.
  5. An awareness of Welsh culture, and a positive attitude to linguistic and cultural diversity.
    - The ability to currently and legally drive a car in the UK
    - The ability to use basic Welsh conversational phrases (eg “bore da” – “good morning”) and to pronounce Welsh place names correctly.

Desirable

6. Knowledge of countryside recreation and access issues.
7. Experience of, and an aptitude for, dealing with internal and external partners.
8. Knowledge and experience of GIS mapping and related analysis.
- Fluency in spoken and written Welsh

SALARY

The starting salary will be £9,839.50 a year, which is pro rata to a full-time rate of £19,679.00 a year.

STATUS

This is a fixed-term, pensionable part time appointment of 18 ½ hours a week to December 2013.
