We have a vacancy for a fixed term Rural Carbon Challenge Fund (RCCF) Facilitation & Development Assistant Manager within the Local Delivery team.

This role is to to provide facilitation and development services to communities successful in securing Defra’s RCCF funding to deliver community renewable projects in the North West of England. The role will be based in the Manchester office and require extensive travel to rural communities in the North West of England.

The main responsibilities of the role will be to support the RCCF Manager with:

· Management of the facilitation services to communities to deliver and secure

high quality applications to the RCCF (currently successful applicants are

agreeing terms and conditions and signing contracts with Defra).

· Management of the development services to communities to deliver successful

small – medium scale renewable energy projects awarding funding from the

RCCF for the larger scale projects (once contracts are signed).

· Finance and contract management of the grant from the Defra RDPE team to

deliver these services.

· Support to the Head of North to deliver/influence local carbon saving activity

across the region regarding low carbon generation.

To be successful in this role you will have:

in one of the following; planning and climate change, developing small scale renewable energy projects, quantifying carbon and cost savings

· Excellent inter-personal skills for developing relationships with stakeholders.

· Good team working skills for working within and across teams.

· Be results orientated with the ability to work to deadlines.

· Well organised with good prioritisation skills.

· Good communication skills, including presentation/facilitation skills and sensitive to stakeholder needs

· Facilitation and delivery experience in a relevant field

· Relevant degree level qualification or equivalent work experience
