Description
• Law Enforcement - including participation and assisting of Marine rangers and students in regular patrols (foot, vehicle and by boat), applying, enforcing and monitoring the control of recreational/commercial fishermen and divers. Issuing of fines and providing evidence in court;
• Area Coverage – assisting and checking boats and marine recreational users in terms of compliance with legal requirements of the Marine Living Resource Act.
• Maintain fixed assets in the area – assist with and supervising of Field staff in the maintenance of tools, equipment, vehicles, boats and infrastructure related to the MPA & Park.
• Information dissemination – assist with natural resources management – rehabilitation management systems, resource management data, and maintenance of a database of marine based ecotourism operators.
• Conservation Management –assist with people and conservation programs and educational groups. Provide an extension service to Park neighbours.
• Administration, HR and Financial – timesheets, log books, application of SANP policies and Procedures.

Requirements:
• Grade 10 (Std 8), Grade 12 (std 10) being an added advantage, or have at least 5 years experience in the field of conservation or related fields, preferably with 3 years field ranger experience.
• Be computer literate; MS office, outlook, excel.
• Be able to communicate verbally & written in at least two of the official languages.
• Have a working knowledge of the Marine Living Resources Act, the Protected Areas Act, Regulations and Code of Conduct.
• Preferably be appointed as a Peace Officer and a Fisheries Control Officer.
• Be in possession of a valid code B (08) drivers license.
• A Skippers license would be an added advantage.
• Level 1 first aid certificate.
• Own accommodation (no staff housing is available within the Park).
• Availability to work flexible hours e.g. weekends, public holidays.
