Description

Ongoing position, or non-ongoing position for 18 months (dependent on funding and park priorities)
Salary range $53,731 - $57,003
(plus allowances)

Norfolk Island is located in the south-west of the Pacific Ocean and is home to unique and significant ecosystems flora and fauna.

The successful applicant will take a lead role in the development and implementation of wildlife conservation and park management programs.

Tasks will include:

  • implementation of threatened species programs
  • weed management and feral animal control
  • supervising staff, contracts and contractors in implementing natural resource management activities
  • developing and implementing natural resource monitoring programs
  • coordinating revegetation activities when necessary to achieve forest rehabilitation.
  • assisting with management of visitor facilities and professional presentation of the national park and botanic garden

This is a position for a person with a strong interest in park and wildlife management.
