EWEA is the voice of the wind industry, actively promoting wind power in Europe and worldwide. It has over 650 members from almost 60 countries, including wind turbine manufacturers with a leading share of the world wind power market, plus component suppliers, research institutes, national wind and renewables associations, developers, contractors, electricity providers, finance and insurance companies, and consultants. This combined strength makes EWEA the world’s largest and most powerful wind energy network.
Scope
The Public Affairs & Research Assistant supports the Public Affairs officers and advisors in their policy analysis and advocacy tasks.
Duties
Support to Public Affairs advisors
- Maintain the institutions contact list in the CRM database
- Maintain central record of MEP and Commission meetings undertaken by the Policy Department staff
- Draft background briefings, policy position papers, reports and presentations positions in coordination with the relevant members of the Public Affairs unit
Support to Research officers
- Identify the relevant internal and external information sources, including internal and external experts
- Collect, analyse and synthesise technical information in order to develop consistent arguments aimed at implementing effectively EWEA strategy
- Provide synthetic reports highlighting the main points and references, in a format suitable for internal and/or external communication
- Support both the implementation and management of the internal and external research projects, in terms of planning and contractual obligations
General administration
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations
- Provide administrative assistance in the absence of the policy administrative assistant
- Provide support for responses to the answering of policy in-box requests
Required key qualifications
- Master in energy and/or environment
- Fluent written and verbal English is mandatory
- One year experience in collecting and analysisng data and providing recommendations in an European context, preferably around renewable energy
- Excellent ability to understand technical environment and societal issues related to wind
- Proven analytical skills
- Strong ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to work as a team player as well as independently
- Ability to work in a multicultural and international environment
