Projects Assistant: Sustainable Behaviour Salary: £18,549 to £20,781 per annum Location: Brighton - Hollingbury Ref: ES5105-14-041 The university has strong environmental credentials and for the last two years has been ranked as one of the top five most sustainable universities in the UK in the People and Planet Green League. Our award winning Environmental Team are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative projects assistant to lead on staff and student engagement initiatives. Projects will include the National Union of Students’ Green Impact scheme, the university’s c-change campaign and other relevant campaigns encompassing sustainable travel, waste and recycling, carbon reduction and biodiversity. To be suitable for this opportunity you will have proven experience with engagement and behaviour change campaigns in addition to strong oral and written communications, project management and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of social media marketing and familiarity with MS Office are also considered an asset. In return we will provide the opportunity to develop communication skills in different mediums and acquire project management skills including event planning and management, project implementation and evaluation. You will develop fundamental industry skills, but also work as an integral part of the Environmental Team to create and drive forward further environmental initiatives across the university’s staff, students and estate. This post would suit a recent graduate looking for a career development opportunity whilst not excluding others from applying. Qualities • We are looking for a confident individual with excellent communication skills, who is motivated and works well within a team to achieve goals. • The preferred candidate will be organised, analytical and creative with good problem solving skills. • In addition the candidate will display a good level of sensitivity and understanding when dealing with stakeholders, contractors and other colleges.
