Job title - Project Tutor . based in Wigan, Greater Manchester

Salary: £19,418.76 per annum

BTCV is the UK’s leading practical conservation charity working with people from all sectors of the community in positive action to improve the environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic person with practical horticultural skills and experience in training and education delivery to develop and deliver a comprehensive training and education programme at community allotment sites across Wigan. The position will involve delivery of adult short courses though BTCV’s NCFE qualification scheme, as well as development and delivery of a tailor-made programme of short courses around the themes of horticulture, sustainability, permaculture and green technology. You will also develop and deliver a programme of primary education sessions on similar themes. You will be responsible for advertising courses and education sessions to the local and wider community, as well as liaising with the project coordinator on the delivery of courses to community groups within the allotment network.

You will have experience of planning and delivering horticultural training to groups of different ages, as well as good communication, time management and organisational skills.

Administrative responsibilities will include writing risk assessments, keeping daily records of activities and volunteers on our internal IT system, advertising forthcoming activities on our website, and updating the project website.

A full UK Drivers License is essential

35 hours per week
