Sida launched the Swedish International Agricultural Network Initiative (SIANI) – hosted at the Stockholm Environment Institute - as a multi stakeholder platform for dialogue in issues on agriculture and development cooperation in relation to a mandate contained in Sweden’s Global Development Policy (PGU).

The overall mission of the network is to stimulate the participation of the Swedish resource base in both the public and private sectors in processes leading to a coherent development policies and activities for sustainable development in the agricultural sector.

Main tasks
The SIANI Project Officer will assist the Coordinator in managing the network.  This task includes planning and organizing events, liaising with members, updating the SIANI website, database and newsletter/bulletin, and preparing inputs to financial and other reporting.

Qualifications and experience
- University degree in a relevant field, such as agriculture, development studies, social science, and/or environmental management

- At least three years work experience in the broad area of agriculture and development, field experience is a merit.

- Good knowledge of the international development oriented agricultural sector, especially the Swedish development cooperation

- Proven technical and analytical capacity in agriculturally related subjects

- Strong interpersonal, intercultural and communication skills

- Proficiency in Swedish and English, including advanced writing and oral skills.  Additional languages a merit.
