Background:

Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) is looking forward to recruit Sociologist for its Marine Project. The job requires leading a multidisciplinary team and to be responsible for the execution of all activities and deliverables of the Marine Project.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop work plan to implement Marine Project.
  • Coordinate all activities in the field for project implementation.
  • Lead a team of project personnel who manage and assign project tasks (targets) in consultation with the Head.
  • Manage project accounts and submit/approve project cash flow as per the requirement.
  • Meet the HR needs of the team; approve leave of absence in consultation with Regional Head and HR.
  • Ensure that field stations are equipped and maintained as per the norms of the organisation.
  • Ensure scientific monitoring of all initiatives.
  • Network with local NGOs, relevant Government Departments.
  • Report writing, day-to-day documentation.
  • Plan and execute eco-development and alternative livelihood initiatives.
  • Run campaign at village/ district level, if needed.

Qualifications:

Post graduate degree in a social science discipline such as anthropology, sociology, social work, rural management or equivalent.

Work experience:

2 - 5 years in a similar position
