Description

CDP Europe, one of the world’s leading climate change charities, is seeking a highly motivated individual to support CDP’s investor engagement work on Climetrics. This exciting opportunity will put the successful candidate at the heart of global efforts to transform financial markets to support the low-carbon transition and to meet the 2°C target.

Our challenge: Financial markets have a big role to play in combating global climate change. To meet the goals of the 2015 Paris agreement, global financial flows must urgently be redirected to support the transition to a low-carbon economy. At the same time, climate change is now considered a material investment risk, particularly for long-term investors.

About Climetrics: Climetrics aims to redirect investment fund flows. It is the world’s first and only independent climate rating for European investment funds. On an ongoing basis, it scores over 3000 of the largest funds available for sale in Europe on their climate impact and related risks, creating an unparalleled level of climate transparency in the fund industry.

The role includes:

  • Actively promoting Climetrics along the fund industry value chain in Europe to increase its visibility and facilitate market adoption. This involves engaging with asset managers, financial advisors, insurance companies, fund platforms, online brokers, retail banks etc.;
  • Providing sales support to CDP‘s senior investor engagement team in their collaboration with existing investor signatories and members relating to Climetrics;
  • Analysing and preparing Climetrics data for external use by stakeholders such as the media or financial markets;
  • Supporting the project lead in operational and data research related tasks;
  • Supporting ongoing project reporting & accounting processes;
  • Assisting with ad-hoc tasks as required.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum BA/BSc degree in economics or business administration; Master’s degree an advantage;
  • 1-3 year’s work experience in a business development role;
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of financial markets and the fund industry;
  • Passion for climate change issues and how we can leverage financial markets to solve them;
  • Motivation to find creative solutions and to work in a highly dynamic environment;
  • Proven data analysis and research skills;
  • Proficiency in Excel and ability to work with large data sets;
  • Good knowledge of Word and Power Point;
  • Ability to work in a multi-national team with virtual communication such as Skype;
  • Willingness to travel across continental Europe on occasion;
  • Fluency in English; competency in German would be a plus.

What we offer:

  • Exciting and challenging tasks in an international team with flat hierarchies and quick decision making;
  • Competitive NGO salary and annual bonus (depending on company results);
  • 30 days annual holidays;
  • Flexible working hours;
  • Monthly contribution to public transport ticket (BVG Monatskarte);
  • Modern office at Sony Centre/Potsdamer Platz with free hot and cold beverages.

The successful candidate will work five days per week and must be able to work legally in Germany. This full-time role is based at our office in Berlin, Germany, and will work closely with and report to the Project Lead Fund Ratings.

Interested? Interested candidates should submit their complete application documents (motivation letter addressed to Nico Fettes, CV, references/certificates and salary expectations) in English, as a single PDF file and via email to hr.cdpeurope@cdp.net with “Project Officer Fund Ratings – First name Last name” in the subject line.

Please note that we only provide feedback to shortlisted candidates due to the sheer volume of applications. If you do not hear from us within 14 days of the closing date, please assume your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion. Thank you for your understanding.
