Do you want to play a crucial role in a leading UK conservation charity working to protect butterflies, moths and our environment? The following vacancy has arisen at our busy Head Office at East Lulworth near Wareham in Dorset

Project Officer


Full-time or job share, 3 year fixed term contract
21,628 - 25,659 pa (dependent on experience) plus 5% pension contribution


This is an exciting opportunity to lead our 'Munching Caterpillars' project, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, which will encourage young people (7-11 years age/Key Stage 2) to learn about the food sources and life-cycles of butterflies and moths.
Duties include delivering the programme of children's events, developing a butterfly recording and monitoring programme suitable for children, organising visits to nature reserves, developing online materials and training and supporting volunteers and teachers.
This post will be suitable for an enthusiastic, experienced, creative and highly organised person with excellent communication skills. The successful applicant will need experience of working with children and volunteers. Knowledge of or interest in butterflies and moths and/or wildlife gardening is desirable.
