Description

CDP is seeking a highly-motivated Project Officer to support the CDP Cities team. This role is diverse: involved in the end-to-end process of data collection, analysis and feedback to disclosing cities and external partners. As a result, the role will be involved in strategic revenue generation as well as the development of innovative, public-facing reports and product development.

The role will have a special focus on data analysis, with opportunities to think creatively in order to solve problems and uncover trends using CDP and other data. Attention to detail, efficiency, ability to master software systems, and a high level of organisation are fundamental to this role.

The Position: The Project Lead Consumer Fund Ratings is based in CDP’s European office in Berlin, reports directly to the Regional Director DACH Region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), and works integrally with the Europe team and the global Investor Initiatives team.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the annual climate change reporting process for a group of global cities:
  • Enable high response rates among cities by providing support, encouragement and expertise:
  • Develop and implement scoring methodologies, with input from partners and responding cities, to assess the comprehensiveness of responses and drive better data quality ;
  • Conduct quantitative research and present findings in reports and presentations;
  • Create and implement data testing and processing methodologies to ensure integrity and quality of data collection and analysis;
  • Identify, develop and implement reporting and analysis tools to meet partners’ and clients’ data requirements;
  • Respond quickly to data analysis requests from internal and external partners;
  • Coordinate with internal and external IT partners to ensure the design and delivery of solutions meet program requirements;
  • Work as a member of the CDP Cities team;
  • Work closely with the wider CDP team to encourage the promotion of all CDP programs and activities.

Key skills:

  • Excellent analytical and IT skills, with a strong aptitude for using and maintaining large databases
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentations, report writing and research proposals. Fluency in languages in addition to English highly desired
  • Attention to detail and commitment to achieving high standards that meet or exceed project requirements
  • Highly organised self-starter able manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
  • A methodical approach to solving complex problems with the ability to challenge assumptions and accepted processes
  • A team player with the ability to thrive in an international, at times high pressure environment

Experience:

  • Use of analytical tools including Excel is required, additional packages such as Access, Zoho Reports, or similar desirable
  • An understanding of local government and the impact of climate change on cities
  • An interest and ability to develop world-leading expertise in the issues of greenhouse gas reduction, adaptation to climate change, and the role of the public sector
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Microsoft SharePoint advantageous

The Project Officer will be based in CDP’s London office and will report to the Head of CDP Cities. The successful candidate will work 5 days per week and must be able to work legally in the UK.
