Description

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Project coordination, management, and reporting;
• Support the development of the IUCN ECARO Conservation Action programme area;
• Identification of programme priorities and project development opportunities;
• Development of high quality projects in coordination with IUCN teams, members, experts and partners;
• Support the development of IUCN knowledge standards and tools;
• Liaison with IUCN members, commissions, donors, and partners.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

• Coordinate and manage projects under the Conservation Action Programme Area with a specific focus on the governance and management of protected and conserved areas;
• Ensure high-quality project planning and management, including the preparation and monitoring of partnership and service contracts, annual work plans and budgets, and technical reports;
• Ensure that all project-related entries on the IUCN Project Portal are accurate and up-to-date;
• Assist in the identification of new opportunities and development of project proposals related to protected and conserved areas;
• Contribute to the development of IUCN conservation standards and tools and their proper dissemination and uptake among partners in the region;
• Support the project-related development of communications material and content on protected and conserved areas;
• Identification of new partnership opportunities and partner relationship management;
• Assist in the preparation of programme-related meetings and events;
• Represent IUCN at national, regional, and international events;
• Carry out other relevant tasks on request and agreement with the line manager.

The above list contains the main duties and responsibilities for this position. IUCN ECARO staff members are expected to show flexibility and be willing to undertake other tasks that are reasonably allocated to them but which are not part of their regular job description.

SALARY

The gross annual salary for this position is in the range from EUR 28.800 to EUR 32.616 subject to deductions for social security contributions and health insurance, and before tax.
