Project Officer - IUCN Green List Africa

Major Responsibilities;

Implement the Green List of protected areas in Sub-Saharan Africa, particularly in Namibia and Zambia.

Specific Duties;

Understand and promote the IUCN Green List programme to government and civil society stakeholders in countries across Sub-Saharan Africa
Support project-specific activities in Zambia, Namibia and other countries as required, based on agreed project commitments and donor requirements;
• Training and orientation workshops
• Facilitate establishment of Green List processes in partner countries
• Provide guidance on site-level assessments and engagement
• Track project commitments and provide reports and updates on activities and events

Track Green List progress in Africa and provide updates on progress to the IUCN GL Operations Team and Management Committee as required
Manage COMPASS (data management system) access and user needs for African experts and evaluators
Support project development and fundraising opportunities
Provide inputs to PAPACO team activities, as required
